Tribute to Pete Battams (Stratford Road Pete)

Page 4

The cortege was led by the trike and trailer hearse, the traffic was marshalled by members of all the local clubs

The crematorium car park was full of bikes and many of us had to stand outside as there was no room in the chapel for all of us.

There were many tributes to Pete, and his family and friends told of a good family man with a sense of adventure and a great sense of humour.

We all have our memories of Pete, his jokes, his mickey taking, and his serious side making sure our bikes were safe. Many bikes in Milton Keynes bear the little red reflectors he insisted were an MOT requirement.

All of us remember his friendly face that would peer up from behind whatever bike he was working on as we walked into his workshop.

All of us mourn the passing of a good friend.

As a footnote Pete's business partner is going to keep the shop going, please support him as there are very few bike shops like it left.
