David Cooper Memorial Run, May 2003

Page 3

It was soon time to gather back at the fleet of bikes and ambulances

The outfits and Trikes were got ready

And we started to load up the pupils

Barrel Member Colin's Suzuki had suffered a bit from its fall

And the marshals were soon getting their breifing for the return journey

And so back at Hinwick...

My passenger on the way back had to wait for his chair

As did some of the others

The college provided a free buffet tea for us all

Which we chose to eat Picnic style outside

To the sound of drag strip at the Speedfreaks Ball at Santa Pod half a mile away

To repeat what I said on the first page, If you can spare any time to come along with an outfit or trike to carry the kids and young adults, or a solo to help with quite the smoothest marshalling job I've ever seen, please do. There is nothing to be scared of, just come along for the day (there is camping available the night before and after if you need it) and you'll have one of the most rewarding experiences you can have hanging around with a bunch of bikers. You'll really make a difference to the pupils you take out as well, the staff at Hinwick reckon that after the run, the kids are much more responsive and animated. In many cases they reckon we achieve more in a day than they can do in months for the pupils.
